FEE-BASED WORKSHOPS: ACTING ESSENTIALS FOR THE MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMER

An intensive workshop for serious students.

July 13-17 and/or August 17-21, 2009 *
12-1:30 p.m.
$75.00 per week-long workshop at Orlando’s School of Dance, Schenectady, NY.

Taught by an experienced director/music director with the aspiring musical theatre performer in mind. Acting essentials to strengthen all aspects of performing. Class will include basic technique, improvisation, character development, scene study, song performance, movement, audition and more. Workshops can be taken alone or together. Material will vary. Great for high school and college age students who want to work on their acting and performing technique.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Robert Whiteman is a professional director and member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. He recently directed the sold out run of YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN at the NYS Theatre Institute. For over 20 years he has taught acting, directed, musical directed and coached aspiring performers in the area. Mr. Whiteman has worked for multiple local theatre companies and is also an award-winning teacher in the Guilderland Central School District.
