Posted May 19, 2009

The Theater Barn is very proud to announce the 26th season beginning on Friday night, June 19, 2009. Just when we need it most, the summer features several area premieres, lots of laughs, great music, a hint of intrigue and enough romance to warm the coolest of hearts! The exciting lineup includes the following titles:

CROSSING DELANCEY June 19 - June 28: A charming romantic comedy set in NYC’s lower East Side; a young woman balances her own point of view with her grandmothers old world values, then meets a matchmaker to find her the perfect match.

LEADING LADIES July 2 - July 12: Ken Ludwig's comedic farce tells the tale of two "down on their luck" actors who attempt to portray women in real life in an effort to inherit an ailing widow’s vast fortune. Hilarity ensues!

VERONICA’S ROOM July 16 - July 26: Ira Levin's chilling mystery about a college student who is persuaded by a sweet, elderly couple to impersonate a young girl long thought to be deceased.

ZANNA, DON’T! July 30 – Aug. 9: Best Off-Broadway Musical Nominee! This fairy tale examines the young love between a High School football captain, the unlikely apple of his eye and a matchmaking teenager who turns them (and the town) upside-down.

ROMANCE ROMANCE Aug. 13 – Aug. 23: This delightful, harmonious musical romp combines two stories examining the roller coaster ride of love; the first set in 19th century Vienna, the second at a modern Hampton’s seaside retreat.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Aug. 27 – Sept. 6 A Broadway hit that centers on the relationship between two rival con men living on the French Riviera, the women they swindle and the girl who outsmarts them both!

MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS Sept. 11 – Sept. 27: Hollywood, 1939: A legendary producer, a famed screenwriter and a formidable director attempt to “fix” what will become one of the great love stories and most successful films of all time.

The directors chair will once again be filled by Artistic Director Michael Marotta, Bert Bernardi, Tony Capone, Phillip C. Rice and Allen Phelps. Among the 40 actors cast, the theater happily welcomes back to the stage audience favorites John Trainor, Kathleen Carey, Carol Charniga, Matt Daly, Eleni Delopoulos, Amanda McCallum, Jerielle Morwitz, Danny Moser, Megan Rozak and Harry Vaughn to name a few.

Shows run Thursday through Sunday, with Thursday and Friday performances at 8 PM, Saturdays at 5 PM & 8:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 2 PM. The fully air conditioned Theater Barn is handicapped accessible, features a snack bar with refreshments and remains the best deal in the area; ticket prices are just $22.00 for all evening performances, and $20.00 for the Sunday matinee. Finally and most importantly, season ticket prices have been reduced in view of our current economic climate!
