Weston Adds Acclaimed Drama "The Year of Magical Thinking" to 2009 Season

Posted April 15, 2009

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company announces a change to its 2009 season lineup. The Year of Magical Thinking will replace The Oath in the first OtherStages spot. The Year of Magical Thinking is the stage adaptation of Joan Didion's book about love, death and imagination. The recent Broadway production starred Vanessa Redgrave and was called "remarkable" by The New York Times. Producing Director Steve Stettler says The Year of Magical Thinking is “an important, memorable and thought-provoking piece that will leave audiences talking long after they leave the theatre.”

As part of their committment to the development of new plays and musicals, The Oath will have its world premiere in Weston's 2010 summer season. Customers who have previously purchased tickets to The Oath will be contacted by the WPTC Box Office and given the option of keeping the same reservation for The Year of Magical Thinking or switching to The Musical of Musicals (The Musicals!).

The Weston Box Office Phone line is officially open starting Wednesday, April 15th. For the next six weeks, patrons can call 802-824-5288 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 to 3 to secure the perfect seats. Phone hours will increase and the Playhouse Box Office will open in June. You can also purchase tickets online any time of day on Weston's exciting redesigned website!

The Wall Street Journal said The Light in the Piazza was "arguably superior to the full-scale version seen on Broadway." If you're trying to stretch your dollar these days, the Weston Playhouse offers all the excitement of "The Great White Way" at Green Mountain prices! Our MainStage tickets start at just $24 dollars, so everyone can afford to see great live theatre at "The Weston." Be sure to ask about multi-show, student and Vermonter discounts.

Tickets are going fast. Call 802-824-5288 or visit the new website today!
