BERKSHIRE CREATIVE LAUNCHES INTERACTIVE SITE

Posted July 30, 2008

Pittsfield, MA — The Berkshire Creative Economy Council, known as Berkshire Creative, is thrilled to announce the re-launch of BerkshireCreative.org; now in a new interactive blog format.

"The creative economy is multifaceted, dynamic, and fast growing. To best reflect and serve this sector, we needed a new online format just as nimble, interactive and collaborative", says Director of Operations, Helena Fruscio. With daily updates about news, events, job opportunities, collaborations, and happenings throughout Berkshire County's creative sector, BerkshireCreative.org has become the one-stop information resource for the local creative industry.

Fruscio states that, "One of the key factors of the new format is that it fosters dialogue. People can suggest posts via blog@berkshirecreative.org or discuss posts via the comment tool."

In addition to daily creative economy updates, BerkshireCreative.Org provides an easily accessible, comprehensive listing of resources for doing business in the Berkshire Creative Economy. "The idea is for visitors to come to our site, and leave better informed and better equipped." says Fruscio. Future plans for BerkshireCreative.org include live video steams of creative events, webinars, and an online marketplace.

The mission of Berkshire Creative is to stimulate job growth and economic opportunity in the region, by sparking innovative collaborations between artists, designers, cultural institutions, and businesses. The site was built by Studio Two in Lenox, MA, who contributed their services. Studio Two principal Kevin Sprague is a member of the Executive Committee of Berkshire Creative.
